Limited Edition Collector Series Chess-sets

Natraja has commissioned limited editions chess under the guidance of internationally known sculptor, Avtarjeet Dhanjal.  You may search his name on Google. A publication by Institute of International Visual Arts is available at www.amazon.com

Avtarjeet Dhanjal has lived in Britain over 30 years, and his work has been shown along with sculptors such as Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth and at the Hayward Gallery London.

Avtarjeet being the son of a wood carver himself, decided to work with Master Craftsman Bhupinder Singh of Amritsar and his son Mandeep Saggu to develop a series of unique chess-sets.

The team of three very creative persons has conceived and created the first 4 sets in this Collector Series, not to forget the advice of  Carl Miceli of Chess Maze Int.

As a sculptor Avtarjeet  believes in creating only few but serious works. It was his idea to limit the number in each edition, 100 the maximum, so that owner of the each set from the Limited Edition Series should have the certainty that he owns something precious.

Avtarjeet is involved in helping the makers in securing the full value of their hard labour and the dealers to protect their precious brand names.

During this process Avtarjeet felt sometimes words alone are not enough, one needs to create example of good practice too.

To set example of good creative designs and good workmanship, Natraja has created this series of 5 unique designs, named Mark Anthony, King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, the Sea Horse & Gallant.

Each set comes in 2 versions Boxwood/Ebony and Boxwood/Rosewood with no difference in prices. Each set will be produced in strictly limited numbers of 105 sets each, 100 will for sale to the collectors, 2 sets each will go to Museum collections, and 2 sets will be held in Natraja collection and one set will be held back by the carvers.

To allow maximum collectors and lovers of chess to own a piece of the legend, our site will not allow any one person to order more than 2 sets, providing the opportunity to share such unique works of art with friends and family.

Original sets will only be available at www.natraja.com and www.chessmazeinternational.com. Possibly one more outlets in the US, to be announced later.

We value our patrons/clients and make sure their interests are protected; we are limiting the outlets for sale of these unique chess sets.

Natraja shall NOT sell these sets through any other website or company, if you find someone doing so; we shall appreciate if you report to us.
